PUMA has been in the business of selling products online in North America and Europe, since years. India came on their online radar in the last one year. Since, PUMA.com was getting a lot of traffic from India, to provide consistency to the Indian online buyers, look and feel of the website was decided to be kept similar to the other online shopping sites of PUMA. To suitably adjust to the general bandwidth and connectivity issues in India. All heavy elements from the design were modified to make them much lighter to load.
A feature rich, robust, suitable open-source enterprise platform was chosen for implementation. Reason being, PUMA can’t compromise on features and requirements, and will keep needing some or the other enhancements all the time, while the overall cost had to be kept competitive.
PUMA India went online few months back and has been generating decent attraction in the market. All the minor glitches have been removed and the portal is taking shape decently.
